The beginning of the field season is just around the corner. Because of this, many companies in our Subsoil use industry are actively planning geological exploration work, managers are involved in calendar schedules and the distribution of specialists for projects, but, unfortunately, no many companies conduct refresher courses for their specialists, from whom the success of the project largely depends.
For this reason, our team of geologists organized such courses at the Ayak-Kodzhan mine from March 2 to 6, 2024.
I would like to express my gratitude to Azamat Zhumagaliyev for conducting courses at our mine for our geologists (who will be directly on the front line during the field season) on the topic Methods of prospecting and exploration of mineral resources.
For all my experience and several dozen courses completed, I can confidently say that Azamat is a distinctive professional, positive person and dedicated to his work, open to everyone and everything new, and he has one distinctive quality: the desire to educate the younger generation. He shared with us not only his theoretical knowledge in the field of geology, but also his own practical skills, which made his courses even more exciting. Regular work with the audience, home works and literally extracting an answer from each course participant were the highlights of his courses.
Rakhmet Azamat, great achievements for you, bringing projects from the green field to placing reserves on the balance sheet on a regular basis) and all the best to you!

A very useful and practical training for both novice geologists and professionals. The rich and structured program with splindid locations makes it memorable and extremely effective for professional and personal development! I look forward to the next training courses!

I completed the geological mapping course held at the KAZ Minerals Aktogay mine, led by Azamat Zh. (A-Z Geology).
The course ran for 4 days and included both theoretical sessions and practical field trips to the pit. During the training, we practiced outcrop documentation techniques and exchanged experience in pit wall logging using various software platforms.
Azamat paid special attention to documenting different breccia modifications—a truly interesting and in-depth topic. He also runs a separate course on practical volcanology with field trips.
I should also mention that our colleagues completed the geotechnical core logging course, which is useful for both junior specialists and experienced geologists looking to systematize and refresh their knowledge.
Overall, the course was very comprehensive, informative, and closely aligned with real-world practice. Not a dull moment throughout.
If you get the chance to work with or learn from Azamat, definitely take it—he truly lives his profession, shares his experience generously, and inspires others.
I also recommend his podcasts on the A-Z Geology YouTube channel, where he interviews experienced geologists and discusses interesting professional topics.

In May 2025, I completed a professional development field course with A-Z Geology on 'Geological Field Techniques in Mineral Exploration' in the Katutau Mountains. The course proved extremely valuable and packed with hands-on exercises, examples, and real cases from exploration practice. Significant emphasis was placed on independent field assignments, which effectively reinforced and even refreshed previously acquired knowledge and skills.
Courses like this represent a new level for Kazakhstan—nothing comparable has been offered here before. A-Z Geology's format combines a solid methodological foundation, high-quality organization, and a friendly team atmosphere. Participation in the program will benefit geologists from all disciplines, as well as geochemists, geophysicists, and applied sciences specialists, including young researchers.
Special thanks to Azamat Zhumagali—the organizer and project leader—for his high professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent organization of the entire process: from logistics and transportation to preparation of training materials and field excursions. Everything was thought through to the smallest detail, and information was presented in an accessible and clear manner.
Bottom line: the course left exclusively positive impressions and became a powerful catalyst for further professional development. I sincerely recommend A-Z Geology and Azamat Zhumagali personally to all colleagues seeking to develop their field and analytical skills to a modern standard.

From May 7-10, I completed the 'Geological Field Techniques in Mineral Exploration' course in the Katutau Mountains.
I want to express enormous gratitude to Azamat Zhumagali and his A-Z GEOLOGY team for your love and dedication to geology. No one has told such captivating stories about minerals, particularly olivine, like Timur Medeo; Ekaterina Siidra had very interesting questions and arguments in reserve; Dimash Srazhadin was our lifesaver; and of course our maestro Azamat Zhumagali, a geology enthusiast and the person who brought his idea to life.
Thank you all for this amazing course and for making me fall in love with geology all over again...

The training on geological logging and field mapping left me with exclusively positive impressions. The combination of theoretical and practical components proved especially valuable. In the first half of each day, we systematically reviewed the core theoretical foundation, which allowed us to refresh our memory, systematize previously acquired knowledge, and better prepare for fieldwork.
After lunch, we went to the pit, where the instructor demonstrated in detail the geological logging methodology, principles for distinguishing lithological variations, methods for determining structural attitudes, and rules for field documentation. Practical observations in real mining-geological conditions significantly strengthened our understanding of the material and allowed us to apply theory in practice.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Azamat and A-Z Geology for the excellent course “Structural Input in Geotechnical Logging.” The material was presented clearly, in a structured way, and with great attention to detail. Azamat is a true professional: he explains even complex topics in an accessible way, shares real experience, and inspires development. The course flew by—everything was interesting, informative, and very useful for practical work. Special thanks for the friendly atmosphere and willingness to answer all questions.
I recommend it to everyone who wants to deepen their knowledge and systematize their approach to geotechnical logging and field mapping.
Thank you, Azamat—everything was excellent, well thought out, and extremely useful!

I'd like to express my exclusively positive impressions of the 'Geological Field Techniques in Mineral Exploration' course from A-Z Geology. The course was intensive, interesting, educational, and most importantly, genuinely useful. As a geologist, I gained new knowledge and practical methods that I successfully apply in my professional work to this day.
I want to particularly note the organizers' detailed approach to everything: the program is thought through literally to the smallest detail—from transportation, training process organization, and instructor work, to participant comfort—convenient location, time management, food, beverages, photo documentation, mini-entertainment activities, and of course, post-course support.
For me, as an early-career specialist, this course became a real bridge between theory and practice in the geological field, as well as an inspiring example of how applied geology can be developed in our country.
Huge thanks to the A-Z Geology team for their colossal effort, sincere dedication, unforgettable emotions, and invaluable knowledge!

The structural geology training was interesting and productive. Over 5 days, we spent mornings in the classroom covering the fundamentals of crustal structure, fault and fold types, and in the afternoons we went to the pit to see these structures in reality. This format helped us better understand how geological processes form and how theory manifests in nature.

I recently completed a professional development course with A-Z Geology, and it was truly inspiring training. Over several days, I gained an wealth of knowledge and experiences. Special thanks to our guru—Azamat, who conveyed extremely complex concepts with incredible ease and professionalism.
These courses reminded me once again why I chose geology—because it truly is my calling. I remember how as a child I accidentally fell in love with this world when I found a piece of white quartz and collected two whole bags of minerals. Since then, my interest has only grown—and thanks to people like Azamat, it becomes even stronger.
Huge thanks to A-Z Geology for the vibrant, substantive, and inspiring training!
