Applied Structural Geology

Corporate professional development course

A short intensive course is conducted at the Client's site. The duration of the course depends on the complexity of the structure being studied.

From 5 to 10 participants
at the Client's site
From April to October

About Course

The course consists of theoretical lectures and practical classes

Structural geology helps to understand the spatial and temporal relationships between various geological structures, their connection with ore formation, preservation, and distribution of mineral resources, and contributes to deciphering the tectonic history of the object under study.

They are studied in the context of local (e.g., veins, breccias, faults, slope stability), regional structural (e.g., fault systems), and tectonic evolution (e.g., origin of ore clusters/belts).

Knowledge of structural geology is also important in the design and excavation of mine workings, the calculation of weak zones and secondary changes, the design of quarry slopes, and possible complications at all stages of mining operations.
